Whether it’s the latest app that’s taking influencer culture by storm, or important platform updates to the sites we already know and love– social media is a powerful tool that can be difficult to stay up-to-date on. Clubhouse: The New Social Network App to Watch

Clubhouse is different from any other platform on the market.

The inherent nature of the app is based around genuine conversations and learning, with niche “rooms” for every interest. Said best by the creators of the app, “Clubhouse is a new type of social network based on voice—where people around the world come together to talk, listen and learn from each other in real-time.” The app is invite-only as of right now, but a few of the Olives have snagged a coveted spot inside the Clubhouse.

Vogue even called it “The New FOMO-Inducing Social App To Know!” Notable members so far are Drake, Jared Leto, and Jodie Turner-Smith. (Read Vogue article here)

New “Professional Dashboard” Feature Launches on Instagram

This new Insights Dashboard is geared to help creators and small businesses track their sales & overall results. In the same vein as other new features such as the Instagram Shop tools, Instagram has stated that these new additions were made with small businesses in mind.

One thing that stood out to me, as a social media manager looking at this new tab, was the “Stay Informed” section. It includes insightful “how-to’s” and quick articles to help you understand the features and tools for Instagram for business. These new resources may serve to make professional resources much more accessible to business owners that are not as well-versed in social media marketing tactics. (Read More)

Twitter Acquires Newsletter Platform Revue

Newsletters are a great way to inform and educate specific subsets of your audience. Here at Olive, with newsletters being a service we offer, this is an exciting piece of news. YouTube Launches Hashtag Landing Pages to All Users

YouTube is jumping on the hashtag bandwagon!

They have been silently working on this new landing page feature, so you can browse videos sorted by hashtags. It still has a few kinks to be worked out as of right now, but as the largest video search engine– it seems that this feature will only better optimize the user experience.
