ASSIGNMENT

In 2023, Cardiff 101 MainStreet launched the Cardiff Farmers Market, but like many new markets, it faced challenges with attendance, vendor retention, and revenue growth in its infancy. The market needed stronger brand recognition and community buy-in to drive foot traffic and ensure vendor sustainability.

Olive PR was initially engaged to support the Farmers Market’s, but due to our early success and high-touch approach, our work expanded to include Cardiff 101’s flagship events, including Taste of Cardiff and Cardiff Dog Days of Summer.

STRATEGY

Our PR strategy was designed as a dynamic mix of strategic storytelling, media, and influencer relations. We positioned BASTA! as a unique culinary destination, ensuring its debut would leave a lasting impression on San Diego’s dining scene

We connected San Diego media outlets and influencers by hosting dedicated nights for media and select influencers. Over 30 of San Diego’s top influencers shared their positive experiences with their followers, generating extensive organic engagement and reach on social media. 

We also leveraged Sam the Cooking Guy’s reputation and background to strengthen our outreach efforts, ensuring we connected with the most influential voices in the city.

IMPACT

BASTA! continues to enjoy its reputation as one of the most beloved restaurants in Little Italy’s Piazza della Famiglia. This one-of-a-kind eatery is a place where friends become family, and every meal is a celebration of flavor and connection.
